Alright, I actually went with this one.

See it in action Here

This one actually works.

I will begin implementing the alternating styles tonight. When I am finsihed, I will release a beta version for testing by everyone. Once we work out everything, I will submit it for inclusion in the core.

Well, it needs a little work, I have to set up a few exclusion rules for areas like the nav.

I think I may be done. Please take a look, if there are any suggestions you may have prior to the test release, please let me know.

Otherwise, I will package this up and release it for testing to anyone that wants to test it.

If there are any bugs found, or modifications to do, I will do them, then commit the theme to svn.

Demo iTheme

If no one has any suggestions by tomorrow night I will package up the test copy and provide you all with a download link.

If no bugs are found by Friday I will commit to svn.

Hmmm ... the green one hurts my eyes especially with the impressCMS logo - but that could very well be due to the cheap tft monitor i am sitting in front of. Since i have no other screen to compare right now i can´t really say.

Ok now this might be a bit late in the production process so don´t kill me please

A question first: This theme can be used in other width instead of fullscreen? Once in delivery i would suggest releasing it with a default value of not being fullscreen since it simply looks better in most cases. (and that from a guy who loves using maximum screenwidth or at least 90%) However ... first impression counts.

I know the discussion edgy vs. rounded is quite old now but would it be possible to include an alternate version with rounded corners? (seriously i don´t know how much work this would be since i never dug into theming).

Yes i admit its a thing of personal preferences to some degree and yeah rounded has been around for some time too these days but still when i look at themes the ones with hard edges pop the thoughts old, postnuke, xoops and others in my mind while rounded themes pop the thought joomla. And its not about showing "we can do this too" its about giving the user a choice.
I am really talking about a second included version (if thats not too hard to do!) so the user could choose between iTheme or iTheme (rounded).

Ok now here are some stones for sale. Real craftmanship. They are rounded too and you can throw them at me. Just kidding.
Ahmm hey whats with that weird smile on your face? You wouldn´t ... you can´t ... argh *ducking & running*

I can certainly do something about the green.

The rest though, is quite late.

Another theme could always be produced later that would be more the way you are looking for.

(Where were you two pages ago? )
