I have seen font tools used on several themes, and used it on a few. However I can not recall ever seeing, or getting, the cookie function for font tools successfully implemented. I will dig around a bit for a solution.

Should all these colors be implemented in the same theme, or should we decide on 3 - 4 - 5? We could certainly do all of them , but the overall theme would be pretty heavy. The reason I am asking is because, I am about to show a few more samples, and I am sure no one wants there to be 10 options.

I will get a few more samples up, and we can all decide on which colors would be best.

I may ask snow for help anyway, as she is much more talented with table-less coding. I will give it a go first, and if I run into problems I will see if she is interested in contributing.

MrTheme, if I can give just a few thoughts...
1. make a header just a little bit smaller ( kill me, I dont know why, but its just my personall opinion)
2. maybe one more color: light silver (something like it is now)
3. maybe some more pastel colors, they are softer to eyes (I dont think people like this purple one which you provided, I know its just an example)

4. I like transparent piece of border
5. so far blue is my favourite one (as always), maybe just a little bit lighter? ;]
6. keep it as simple as possible, really
7. good job, maybe it is going to be iCMS next admin design

Some of these are ridiculous for this actual release. I could always release a second package with the rejected themes at a later date. Let's choose which are best for the New Core Theme, if a revision is liked, but not appropriate for the core theme, I will gladly release it separately later.

Like I said, I think some of these are a bit much. However, in the spirit of "I may be wrong" I posted all samples produced.

But if this was done by choice, css, could be present all color smoothly in a single theme.

Alright iTheme is based on impresstheme from 1.0 Final

I have gotten the blue done. I am away til Monday though, so next week I will implement the style switcher and all that.

Demo

Could we discuss how many selectable color schemes we want in this theme? Should we just release them individually? At this point, I am pretty much done with the blue one. I could pump out all 15 of them in a day individually.

Please post you response to the following questions.

a. How many selectable styles in iTheme?
b. Which colors?
c. Font sizer as well?

I like the igreen one. Bring on the colour! I have become a bit allergic to grey after 4 years of xoops default themes!

a. I dont know, it doesnt matter so much at the moment
b. after you polish your theme it will be easier to introduce new colors and choose the right ones
c. personally I havn't ever used font sizer in-build on websites. Probably some accesiblity rules expect such thing ?

Regarding to iTheme: it is very close to meet my criteria of nice design ;] (good work, especially I like transparent borders at the top)

Maybe horizontal menu could have bigger size of font, and more visable background (there is no bg at the moment and it makes menu a bit invasible),

I dont know how to rate blocks design, it is nice, but I dont know how to improve them to make them closer to my taste ;]
As a conclusion: good work.

a - between 3 & 6 maximum ... too much choice sometimes is too much confusion and lessens the impact

b - I think ones which work out to be a good colour contrast

c - I think this has to be standard now ?

I echo Kurak's thoughts... not boring themes for ones included as standard... and a complete contrast to our predecessor
