As of January 4, 2010 Mr. Theme Design will be closing it's doors (for a few weeks) While we re-purpose the website.

Backstory:
I have accepted a position with a company that has required me to sign a Non-Compete Clause, which means I can not sell themes or do custom work any more.

New Beginnings.
I will not be going away - I am just no longer able to accept work in the same field as my new employer.

Mr. Theme Design will reopen its doors by the end of January with a new purpose. The website will become a selective theme Gallery, and will focus on tutorials, tips and how-to's.

All of Mr. Theme Designs free/Premium/whatever themes will be made available in an archive - I will no longer provide a demo site for any of my old themes, and all themes from Mr. Theme Design will be completely unsupported because I will be releasing them free of charge under the GPL in hopes that you are all able to make use of them in whatever capacity you see fit.

What does this mean to the project?
It will mean a little less time for support. I have assured that my position within the Board would not be considered a conflict of interest - so I will be able to maintain my involvement in all capacities on that level. Including contributing to the project as I see fit.

Basically - if I am not making money for it - I can still do it.

I want to take this chance to thank everyone for all of the support over the years, it is that support that has helped my family get through the hard times the U.S. is going through.

So from the bottom of my heart: Thank You!

I'm sorry to see your talents become unavailable for contract work, but I'm glad you will still be present in the board. You've always been the voice of the designer among the voices of developers and site builders.

Nice move on donating the themes, they'll be very useful.

I understand that solid funds versus shaky funds its always a better thing.

would donations be classified under the non competitive clause?
