What is the best bare knuckles design for ImpressCMS, something like a wire frame where people can work from.

If there isn't one then can a designer please create one, this is for the ImpressCMS project and will be used as a base for people new to designing so they can create themes in a new project which we'll announce shortly.

You mean a barebones / wireframe theme?

We haven't one. Morphogenesis is simply too complicated, so I started working on my own, but i advice it's going to be EXTREMELY WIREFRAME. Absolutely no logic on it, no detection of 3/2/1 column, no CSS specifying widths or things like that, just the DIVs, the IDs and the CSS selectors.

Will, could you please do that?

Nachenko, when will your work be ready for use?

I think 3 or 4 options would be ideal for users!

I fully agree with this. Even the original default theme was way more complicated than it needed to be in terms of CSS styles. A bare bones theme that people can build on would be great.

And more than one from different designers perspectives would be even better ;-)

There are some cool plans surrounding these themes

It's good to be able to give a few ideas for people to use - rather then just tie people down to one design

(of course - someone could come up with a nice design that doesn't use any of those mentioned )

Along with Will and nachenko, I'm working on an alternative theme code base with the theme I'm working on now.

No offense is intended to those who created Morphogenesis, but I never liked that theme and I curse profusely every time I have to work on it. Technically, it's fantastic. As someone who has to work with client sites regularly that use it, it makes me want to pull my hair out.

IMHO, the more concepts of a "wireframe" the better! It's all about choice. I'm looking forward to seeing Will's, nachenko's and anyone else's work in this area. Eventually, I'll get mine done too, but I'm not going to rush this one. That, and spare time isn't in abundance right now, but that's a good thing. :)

P.S. Don't forget to test your designs in Google Chrome guys and gals. It's based loosely on Mozilla and Safari, but it has its own quirks to contend with. Tip: It behaves more like Safari than Mozilla.

P.S.S. w00t! 100th post since creating this new account. Took me long enough!
