Profile management, is it different?

Based on the article released a while ago, we have looked into a socialized profile solution and merged the popular yogurt module into our profile module which is based on smartprofile.

Where do I get it?

You can download the latest release from our file release system on SourceForge.

Release Packages

Over the following weeks we will release a series of 'Alphas', these are for testing and not for use on a live production website. Alphas tend to be releases targeted at developers to test the code and get familiar with the new additions - but don't let this put you off because we welcome everyone to get involved.

Shortly after we've confirmed all the features are implemented we will then move into 'Beta' phase, during this time we would appreciate all users getting involved and reporting all the bugs found, remember that the quicker we get these reports, the quicker we can make the fixes, then move on the Release Candidate (RC) and then of course the 'Final' (Stable).

What else do I need?

With this release, we are moving farther into only supporting stable versions of PHP5.  The current stable release of PHP is 5.2.8 and 5.2.7 has been removed from distribution because of several critical flaws.

  • PHP: 5.2.0+(5.2.7 is NOT recommended!)
  • MySQL: MySQL server 4.1.0+ - With UTF-8 Support
  • Web server: Any server supporting the required PHP version (Apache highly recommended)
  • Special characters require UTF-8 support from hosting providers.
  • 16MB PHP Memory

How do I install it?

Installation went smoothly, no bugs detected.
Admin area looks great, redirecting are very nice, image manager is impressive. You did a hell of a job refactoring the system module. IPF is showing its power! Congratulations ;-)

Thanks for this release!

Installing on local testserver went smoothly as Trabis mentioned.

So far 2 issues:
1. With Impresstheme set for admin area the header text of tables is almost unreadable because of the white text colour (tcket submitted).
2 With imLinks 1.01 RC-2 the permissions are not working correctly. Normally selecting the box at the right will active/deactivate all categories for a user group. This doesn't work anymore. Also something happened with the style settings... double borders etc.

Re: ImpressCMS 1.2 Makes its Début!
Thanks for all the effort in getting this preview out. As an alpha release, expect there to be bugs and incomplete features. The best type of feedback will be about functionality and how the features are designed - does the captcha configuration need additional options? Does the imagemanager need something else? Is the profile module lacking anything?

Looking forward to a great final release!

Re: ImpressCMS 1.2 Makes its Début!
English language bugs:

Everywhere where is added this
define("_AM_LOGINNAME","Login Name");

is addeed as "Loginname"

Pages.php is totaly replaced without a comment
imProfile module is yogurt, it's added too without any description why
and why 1.2 have 2 profiles instead of one

1st is the build in XOOPS Profile, second is the yogurt.

as very earlier release looks ....mmm ok, build in Content have to be extended to maintain sections, categories and comments and to act as News module, otherwise I can't call it Content Manager yet.

Captcha needs a bit changes too
Quote:

Maximum attempts

Then what ?
a) Temporary BAN - defined by the site owner
b) Permanent BAN - ------ || ---------
b2) BAN IP or whole IP Range

From ICMS requirements:
16MB PHP Memory

This have to be lowered, or removed at all.

Leading Hosting companies like HostMonster.com and Siteground.com gives up to
The Memory Limit of your server is: 10Mb

I can't see why u set such higher requirement, since XOOPS 2.3.3 respectively ICMS 1.1.2 works fine on 6Mb systems.

I llike as Gnome shows its new releases:
http://library.gnome.org/misc/relea ... ex.html.en
Thinking in marketing, I believe that is better than opur way and for the final release perhaps we could copy some ideas.

Re: ImpressCMS 1.2 Makes its Début!
I suggest starting a forum thread for collecting the feedback - article comments are never the best place.

And remember - this is just an early preview of 1.2 - much is left to be done before we go to beta and really start working out the bugs.

10Mb... lmao... ok. Thats a nice round number isn't it. I means since Memory is scaled in intervals of 8. Yeah 10 makes perfect since.
