It's been 6 weeks since our early preview of ImpressCMS 1.2 and we have another alpha release available for review. Even though we are still in the early phases of our release cycle, we have built on top of the 1.2 Alpha 1 release and begun to focus on bug fixing and stability.
Alpha releases are releases primarily targeted at developers to test the code and get familiar with the new additions - but don't let this put you off. We welcome everyone to get involved! We would appreciate all users getting involved and providng feedback about the new features, remembering the quicker we get these reports, the quicker we can adjust and move on the Beta, Release Candidate (RC) and then of course the 'Final' (Stable).
What's new in ImpressCMS 1.2 Alpha 2?
- Global management of upload mimetypes
- Google Adsense management
- A new system block for users' bookmarks
- Global 'Ratings' system that can be integrated to modules, just like Comments and Notifications
What else?
- The system 'Waiting Contents' block had been extended, thanks to GiJoe
- The search results page has been redone and there are more options to configure the site's search results
- The site administrator can set a different start (top) page for each group
