What is AMS?
To quote from the official site:
"AMS is a highly modified version of the News 1.2 for XOOPS, and adds a huge amount of features to give the webmasters a lot more control over their content while still maintaining an easy to understand and use interface. AMS is highly scalable, and is geared towards performance, and as such is well suited to large article repositories that attract high amounts of users."
The module was initally developed by it-hq.org, with development by Mith (lead developer of XOOPS2.2, SmartProfile, SmartBlocks and more) and has now been continued by NovaSmart Technology.
The module is a fast Article Manager, optimized for speed and performance.
This latest release includes fixes for previous issues found with Editors. Previously this required the "XOOPS Framework" expansion to be installed. This is no longer required.

Notes from David:
Since the release of this module, I - and other members of our testing team - have been ensuring that it works with both ImpressCMS 1.0 and 1.2.
So far I have found no major issues with the module, which I am pleased to note that the author mentions his support of ImpressCMS 1.0 in his official release.
However, one issue that may effect some users is Editors.
The previous issue with 2.51 - where the xoops editors was required - has been fixed.
To select an editor other than the standard DHTML legacy one - you will need to enable this from the core, not the module:
So - in ImpressCMS 1.2 - do the following:
1 - First enable an alternative editor in general-prefferences in the core...
(... siteurl/modules/system/admin.php?fct=preferences&op=show&confcat_id=1)
2 - Ensure that the required group has access to the editor:
(.. siteurl/modules/system/admin.php?fct=groups)
Then the group should have access to the required editor.
