UPSJ´s XI Congress
Published by Evasan on 2010/3/3 (625 reads)
We (Debianus & me) have just opened a new site dedicated to the XI bi-annual Congress of the Spanish Court´s Clerk Association in the city of Palencia: http://congresopalencia.upsj.org (just a comment: perhaps "Master" in English Courts would be better).
Since we took the responsibility of the Association´s web (www.upsj.org) in 2003, we chose Xoops for our project, and we migrated to ICMS when it was born. So, we´ll always be grateful with the team who has developed and continue working to make better this great CMS. Thanks to all !! Our new site shows the program for a legal congress. But Palencia, the city and the department where will be, has many cultural and natural attractions: roman villas, romanesque´s churches of the XI-XII centuries, the Jacob´s way (that cross the province), high mountains… So, we couldn´t resist including some of those treasures in the web. We have used the Content module. The reason of this election: it allows to choose (easily: we are lawyers) a different theme that the one we use in the main page (Sato is a great theme, but for our new site we chose ixt009). With so many images to show, we give importance to “special effects” (jquery based), as fade images, slideshow in header, menu, photo galleries, etc. The problem is 80% of our visitors use IE 6.0…and that is a nightmare for a good job; a lot of ideas are in the trash because they did not work on IE6. Some CSS3 features were added too. We hope you like it. We are not professional webmasters and designers or coders, but we did our best.
