ImpressCMS Now Available From Microsoft Web App GalleryPublished by Fiammybe on 2010/7/29 (3793 reads)
Great news! The ImpressCMS project is now also available on the Microsoft Web App Gallery.
Getting ImpressCMS to work on your Windows web server has never been easier or more convenient, thanks to the Web Platform Installer. This utility takes care of the configuration and the required software for your Web app, making the setup of your web app as close as possible to a one-click process.
Being accepted by Microsoft in this list of web applications places us in the company of very well-known and respected open source projects like Dotnetnuke, Umbraco, Wordpress and Drupal.
Getting ImpressCMS accepted for inclusion on the platform has been possible thanks to the efforts of INBOX International.
About the Microsoft Web Platform (Web PI)
Initially released on January 21, 2009, Microsoft Web Platform Installer (Web PI) is a simple, free tool that automates the installation of Microsoft's entire Web Platform stack. It also includes installers for PHP, which make it a lot easier to get PHP working on your Windows machines.
The final 2.0 version of Web PI, released September 24, 2009, adds the ability to automate installation of certain 3rd party software, known as Web Apps. Many high-profile web applications are available such as DotNetNuke, Drupal, Wordpress, and now also ImpressCMS.
The Web PI can be downloaded from the Microsoft Web Platform website at www.microsoft.com/web
The goal of the ImpressCMS Project is to stimulate and promote the open source nature of the CMS in both the core and its modules and establish itself as the premiere CMS by expanding the system to meet the needs of their users now and well into the future.
